We are a Nordic Ski Patrol, and are part of the National Ski Patrol. NSP is most often thought of in conjunction with Alpine Skiing, but there are a small number of patrols at Cross-Country ski areas. To become a patroller requires completing an Outdoor Emergency Care course that is similar to an EMT course, although there is an emphasis on outdoor and wilderness emergency care. CNYO is an orienteering club. Orienteering is running (or walking) in the woods with map and compass. We teach map reading skills and offer fun events involving navigation and running (or walking).
