… The NECC is looking for volunteers who enjoy hiking, camping, working on challenging outdoor based projects, working in a close-knit team, and those who are compelled to make a positive impact on the world. We recommend the volunteer be a relatively active person, be committed to working in a safe and positive manner, and can be able to lift an average of 25-50 pounds (since many of the projects will require hard physical labor along with hiking to and from the work-site). Above all we are loo …

We've enjoyed our time with other Atheist Meetup Groups so much, we decided to create one a little closer to home (Beverly, MA). Get together with other atheists on the North Shore for various social and recreational outings without having to travel into Boston! This is not a discussion group, although our members are free to discuss whatever they wish. It's really for people who have already done the research and concluded that the existence of deities is just like the existence of fairies...no …

You want to be able to say you are adventurous but don't find yourself actually doing anything adventurous? Then this group is for you. I love trying new adventures but who wants to buy all the equipment they sometimes require? And the planning....the trying to convince your friends to go with you....the ease of being able to chicken out when it's just you....the regret of missed opportunities....it can all just be too hard. So, this group will organize it for you - the adventure, the equipment, …

I am forming this meetup to have a way of finding people with whom to go kayaking on occasion. I am not sure how often I'll be able to do it, but thought I'd go ahead and set up this meet-up, anyway. This group is really meant for those who own their own kayak, as I don't usually paddle anywhere near to where one would find a kayak rental business. I paddle a Klepper folding kayak, which handles differently than hardshell `yaks. If you are a skilled kayaker with your own boat looking to head out …

Meet other local surfers to share stories, help out new people to the sport, talk waves, and plan outings and surf. This is a group of local surfers looking to meet one another and be social. This is a very social group. It is very difficult to 'plan surf' here in New England, as the surf can be very sporadic. We plan surfing events when possible, but many of our events will be of the social nature including beach clean ups, surfrider fundraiser events, after work cocktail hours, and other even …

We are forming a group of soccer players who gathers twice a week, usually on Wednesday and Saturday, on the Donnelly field in Cambridge (grass). As we play for fun, our games are very informal and don't require particular skills. Until now, we succeeded in gathering about 6 or 7 people and played with small goals. However, the field is a real soccer field with real goals, which we could use if the group is large enough. If you are interested, we would be very happy to have you join us!
